Job Summary

This position needs to engage and educate visitors by providing insightful and informative tours of the exhibition, focusing on the historical significance of the site. The Docent will act as an ambassador for the exhibition, ensuring a memorable experience for all visitors while fostering a deeper understanding of the site's history. This position will provide support to the Art and Culture team of One Bangkok Project, a fully integrated real estate development project at the corner of Wireless Road and Rama IV Road.
 

Job Description

1.    Conduct Exhibition Guide:
        •    Lead interactive guides, sharing knowledge about the site's history, archaeology, significance, and key exhibits.
        •    Tailor presentations to diverse audiences, including school groups, tourists, and history enthusiasts.
        •    Answer questions from visitors, providing accurate and detailed information.
2.    Visitor Engagement and Reporting:
        •    Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors.
        •    Accurately record and report daily visitor numbers.
        •    Prepare and submit detailed monthly reports on visitor attendance.
        •    Collaborate with the Art and Culture team to use visitor data to improve the exhibition experience and outreach efforts.
3.    Exhibition Daily Operation and Maintenance: 
        •    Perform the daily operations of the exhibition and the exhibition building.
        •    Monitor the condition of exhibits and report any issues or damage to the appropriate personnel.
        •    Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the exhibition space.    
4.    Event Participation:
        •    Support special events associated with the exhibition, such as workshops, talks, and other activities.
        •    Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth operation during peak times and special events.
5.    Others: 
        •    Liaise with internal parties to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
        •    Carry out ad hoc duties as requested.

Key Qualification

•    Bachelor degree or higher in Liberal Arts, Art, Arts Management, Museum Studies, History, Archaeology, Anthropology, Archaeology, Journalism or a related field is preferred.      
•    Previous experience in a museum, gallery, arts and cultural festivals, archaeology field, or educational settings is highly desirable.
•    Demonstrated experience in public speaking, teaching, or leading group tours.
•    Excellent communication skills, including fluency in spoken English.
•    Proficiency in a third language is a plus.
•    Strong knowledge or interest in history, archaeology and contemporary world, with the ability to convey this information effectively.
•    Ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
•    Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new information, environments, and situations.
•    Good management, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
•    Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for in-dept content.
•    Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed.

 

Work Schedule: 5 working days per week.
Shifts: Flexibility to work in rotational shifts, including:
    Shift 1: 9:00 – 17:00
    Shift 2: 13:00 – 21:00 
•    Wearing the provided uniform is required.
•    Ability to stand for extended periods.
•    Ability to handle and engage with VVIP visitors and groups, ensuring a high level of professionalism and discretion.
