Job Description
Monitor hotel financial performance
- Communicate ownership expectations and objectives to hotel.
- Review proposed budgets, business strategy plans (marketing & operating), and capital expenditure plans for hotel’s compliance with ownership expectations.
- Review actual financial performance compared to budget, forecast, and prior years. Also compare against financial benchmark of the industry and competitors.
Monitor the competitive market
- Obtain situational awareness of overall market trends, demand and supply conditions, market segment analysis, and demand generators.
- Review occupancy, ADR, and RevPar trends through STR and other market data reports.
- Review competitive set, rationalize relevance of the competitors, and communicate with hotel on need for adjustment of competitors for performance comparison.
Monitor physical assets and control capital expenditures
- Regularly evaluate physical condition of the hotel and anticipate capital expenditure required to maintain hotel competitiveness.
- Develop and follow through on long-term CAPEX plan developed together with the hotel operation team.
Monitor compliances to license, permits, insurance, and annual financial audit
- Monitor and ensure hotel has obtained valid and up-to-date compliance to licenses and permits following requirements of local law and government authorities.
- Ensure hotel has obtained insurance coverage as required by HMA and owning company.
- Ensure hotel carries out scope of annual financial audit in a timely manner as required by local law and owning company.
Development and coordination of hotel investment plan
- Lead coordination of hotel investment plan by acting as a central controller between hotel team, hotel management company, owning company, and project consultants.
- Involve in rationalization of Property Improvement Plan, Hotel Performa, and project investment cost.
Key Qualification
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Business related subjects
- 5-10 years in hotel industry
- Excellent communicator. Candidate must be proficient and comfortable speaking and presenting in English.
- To have had a specialist role in hotel or corporate level
- Good understanding of Financial & Accounting Numbers (i.e., Cash-Flow Statements, P&L and BS).
- Basic understanding of Corporate & Contracts Law.
- Bonus for Candidates with CFA and/or CPA Certifications.
