Job Summary

Retail Merchandising is responsible for delivering effective output through 360-degree categories excellence across multiple functions including sourcing, purchasing, trade planning, omnichannel commercial dynamic to enhance OBMK business as leader in the market delivering beyond expectation products and experiences to customers.

Job Description

Merchandising Strategy

  • Full responsibility of OBMK merchandise strategy, across all store formats: offline & online
  • Responsible for the category business development, sales/profitability and yearly category budget achievement
  • Analyze / Capture local & international market trends / product popularity and customers sentiment to understand and to be guideline for merchandising strategy
  • Develop and implement strategic merchandising plan at 360-degree, including national brands, private labels, opening price point range, import range, seasonal and commercial dynamic, in-store and online activation
  • Define and control the right mix in the assortment strategy among national brands, private labels, import and opening price points.
  • Determine pricing strategy

 

Sourcing & Negotiation

  • Ensure achievement of categories sales, GP, OI based on agreed TTA
  • Lead negotiation with partners to ensure that the selections of the suppliers are supporting the company’s strategy
  • Foster good relationship with suppliers and develop effective partnership campaigns to drive business growth and uplift customer experiences

 

Inventory Control

  • Managing and regulating the inventory of the category based on the monthly target taking in account the business seasonality

 

Special Project Management & Ad-hoc Assignment

  • Assist with assigned tasks to ensure successful business set-up and business operation.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources in cross-cultural environment to ensure that projects/assignment adhere to scope, schedule, and budget

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of merchandising professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve collective goals

Key Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Merchandising (dry grocery), Sales & Marketing, or Business Development
  • Minimum 3 years of management experiences
  • Background in Retail industry is required
  • Good commercial sense with analytical skill
  • Possess entrepreneurial spirit as well as ability to work effectively as a team.
  • High level of effective communication, negotiation, storytelling, and stakeholder management
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, proactive, and able to work under pressure
