Resident Technical Officer
Job Summary
The Resident Technical Officer (RTO) will be stationed full-time on site to supervise and monitor the construction and redevelopment of high-end mixed-use development comprising 5 Blocks of 9/10 storey residential flats with B1, L1 retail space, 3 level basements with other communal facilities. The RTO will ensure all works are carried out in compliance with the project specifications, approved drawings, Building Control Act and Regulations, and relevant statutory requirements.
Job Description
- Assist the Resident Engineer in carrying out supervision works on site and also assist in supervising & coordination with other Resident Technical Officer on site.
- Assist project team in daily supervision and coordination duties.
- Attend to site meetings, site inspections, testing, commissioning and coordination of work.
- Supervise Systems and Electrical work installations and ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site.
- Observe that the Do’s and Don’ts of the project are duly compiled with.
- Review all project drawings and specifications and raise any discrepancies and/or possible problems before the commencement of installation works.
- Keep and maintain daily site record on progress of works, instructions given to Contractors, materials delivered to site, daily activities and weather conditions at site, number and visitors at site and any other significant information.
- To submit daily reports on the quality of work and rectification progress.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance to approve drawings and specifications.
- As part of the duties, RTO may be required to travel outside of Singapore to carry out inspections of Prefabricated Bathroom Unit (PBU) fabrication and fit out works for the project. Such travel will be undertaken in coordination with the main contractor and only when the scope of work necessitates physical inspection. RTO is expected to be available and prepared for such assignments as part of their employment obligations.
Key Qualification
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized polytechnic or equivalent.
- Recognized certification as Resident Technical Officer (RTO) registered with BCA under the Accreditation Framework.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant site supervision experience in building construction projects for residential development is a must.
- Prior experience in mixed-use or integrated projects is highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Good understanding of architectural, structural, and M&E drawings.
- Able to identify construction risks and recommend solutions promptly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
