Assistant Director, Group Strategy & Planning
Job Summary
This is a highly hands-on position, ideal for a professional adept at managing complexity and volume in a dynamic environment. The role focuses on synthesising information from across the Group’s investments i.e. multi-county and asset classes, and developing clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders which considers the trade-offs to achieve the business objectives. This role sits in a small collaborative team with a focus on performance. The emphasis is on individual contribution, analytical rigour, and technical expertise—especially in data analysis and visualisation.
Job Description
- Support development and analyses of strategic issues, including in-depth business review, investment/divestment review, and strategy development.
- Conduct trade-off analysis on complex business scenarios and articulate clear recommendations to senior management.
- Develop compelling dashboards and reports in Power BI to communicate findings and track performance metrics.
- Collect, cleanse, and analyse large data sets to distill key insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, align on priorities, and implement strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present succinct reports, business cases, and presentations to facilitate senior stakeholder discussions.
- Mentor colleagues as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment without formal people management responsibility.
- Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate them into actionable insights for the organisation.
Key Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Meaningful experience in strategy, portfolio management, investment management, planning, data analytics, or similar roles.
- Demonstrated ability to process and distill large volumes of information to identify key issues and solutions.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling and dashboard creation; strong ability in Power Query for data cleansing and transformation.
- Proven experience conducting trade-off analysis and presenting well-structured recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business insights.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional environments with minimal supervision.
