Assistant Manager, Group IT (Cloud Engineer)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing public cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Huawei Cloud along with strong capabilities in Windows and Linux server administration.
This role includes responsibilities in architecture design, project implementation, operation support and working with various Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) components. The candidate should also have experience in cost management and allocation, and be capable of producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation and security hardening guides aligned with industry standards.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, GCP, and Huawei Cloud.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Architect and implement cloud solutions using IaaS and PaaS components such as:
- Azure Application Gateway, Virtual Network, Virtual WAN, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, Virtual Desktops
- AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, S3, EC2, IAM, Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch
- GCP VPC, Cloud VPN, Compute Engine, Cloud IAM, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring
- Huawei Cloud VPC, Enterprise Router, VPN, IAM, Cloud Eye, Log Tank Service
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues across cloud and server environments.
- Lead or support cloud-related project implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
- Monitor and optimize cloud costs, implement cost allocation strategies, and provide recommendations for budget efficiency.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Configuration and operational guides
- Security hardening guides based on industry standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks)
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud and server technologies and recommend improvements.
- Led and supervised a team of outsourced vendors, overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of the cloud environment.
Key Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in managing public cloud environments
- Strong expertise in Azure, AWS, GCP and Huawei Cloud, including PaaS offerings
- Proven experience in Windows and Linux server administration
- Willingness to learn and stay current with evolving technologies and best practices
- Adaptable and comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on security, reliability, and operational excellence
- Collaborative and able to work effectively across teams and departments
- Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives forward
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Huawei Certified ICT Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC-1) or equivalent
- Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) such as Terraform
