Position Objective

Frasers Property is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sustainability Director to join our Group Sustainability team. This is a unique and pivotal role responsible for driving the sustainability performance of a portfolio of commercial, industrial, and hospitality assets across a diverse, multi-region portfolio.

The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter, empowered to act as the central sustainability expert for these assets. Working from our Singapore headquarters, you will partner with our asset management teams across different regions, building their capability and operationalising our group sustainability strategy at the asset level.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially-minded sustainability professional to make a tangible impact across a diverse, global portfolio, influencing asset value and driving our decarbonisation agenda.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Performance Management

  • Develop and implement asset-level sustainability plans for each property within the portfolio, ensuring alignment with Group decarbonisation targets and climate objectives.
  • Establish and manage a robust data collection and performance monitoring framework to track key ESG metrics (energy, water, waste, carbon) across all assets.
  • Support Group-level reporting requirements, including GRESB, annual sustainability reports and disclosures, by providing quality-assured asset-level data and performance narratives.
  • Provide insightful analysis to asset management teams, translating sustainability performance into commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Finance and Group Treasury to set, track, and report on performance metrics for Sustainability Linked Loans (SLLs) at the property and portfolio levels.
  • Providing ESG due diligence and input for investment and divestment approval papers, ensuring alignment with Group portfolio targets.
  • Managing asset-level inputs for physical and transition climate risk assessments utilising the Group CVaR platform, and supporting risk mitigation strategies.

Asset Enhancement & Decarbonisation

  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and build compelling business cases for sustainability-focused capital expenditure projects (e.g., energy efficiency retrofits, on-site renewables, water conservation measures), driving innovation by conducting proof-of-concepts (POCs) and actively identifying and securing government grants and funding to support decarbonisation efforts.
  • Manage a pipeline of green building certifications and renewals (e.g., NABERS, Green Star, Green Mark, BREEAM), providing technical project management and consultant oversight.
  • Collaborate with asset management to integrate sustainability criteria into property-level budgets, operational procedures, and procurement decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building

  • Act as the primary sustainability partner for the relevant asset management teams, providing expert advice and building their internal capability to manage ESG issues effectively.
  • Engage and influence third-party hotel operators and property management teams remotely, fostering a collaborative approach to achieve our sustainability goals.
  • Manage and direct on-the-ground consultants as required to support the implementation of specific projects, audits, or initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the asset teams and the Group Sustainability ensuring strategies, tools, and best practices are effectively shared and implemented.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in real estate sustainability, ESG consulting, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: A degree in Engineering, Building Science, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Core Competencies:
  • Green Buildings: Deep technical knowledge of building performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability principles in the built environment.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to develop robust business cases, linking sustainability initiatives to financial metrics such as ROI, NOI, and asset value.
  • Stakeholder Influence: A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage stakeholders remotely, and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Global & Cross-Cultural Agility: Proven experience managing projects or stakeholders across diverse geographic markets. Must demonstrate the ability to adapt communication styles to navigate different cultural nuances and regional regulatory landscapes effectively.
  • ESG Frameworks: In-depth familiarity with key real estate ESG benchmarks and rating schemes (e.g., GRESB, Green Mark, BREEAM, LEED).
