Vice President, Group Sustainability
Job Summary
As Vice President, Group Sustainability, you will be responsible for the identification, design, development, and execution of key Sustainability objectives as determined by the Group (Frasers Property Limited, i.e. ‘FPL’). You will provide support and guidance to the business leadership in ensuring sustainability is integrated into all stages of the business’s activities (as appropriate and defined by the business), liaising with key influencers and decision makers as required.
Your role will be critical in driving a consistent approach that ensures the Group’s sustainability objectives and commitments are reflected in its processes and activities and you will be responsible for identifying and building the requisite sustainability related capabilities within Director, Senior Leader, and other key internal stakeholder levels.
Job Description
- Provide sustainability expertise and guidance to the Group to support the execution of the Sustainability Strategy and drive change
- Identify and assess environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities for the organisation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ESG strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Identify processes and procedures and work closely with strategy and risk teams to further inform and support investment decisions on the impacts and opportunities associated with ESG
- Lead the development and review of corporate ESG policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Lead the publication of ESG reports that are aligned to international standards (such as GRI, Integrated Reporting, TCFD) for the Group and its sponsored REITs
- Manage and oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of ESG data within the organisation. It is crucial to ensure accurate and reliable data is gathered to support initiatives and decision-making processes.
- Lead the implementation of a centralised ESG data management system to enhance data collection, analysis and reporting capabilities
- Lead the external assurance processes to validate date integrity for our disclosure within ESG reporting and GRESB submission
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as executives, department heads, and employees, to drive ESG initiatives and embed practices into business operations
- Keeping abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulations in ESG, and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership, including Steering Committee and Sustainability and Risk Management Committee.
- Support other members of the Group Sustainability Team in the execution their goals as required
- Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory/industry bodies, and NGOs, to enhance the organization's reputation and promote sustainable practices
- Spearhead the development of employee engagement programs, which include organising the annual group Environment Month and Health & Safety Month.
Key Qualification
- Relevant University degree and relevant real estate industry certifications/qualifications in ESG
- 10+ years’ experience in an ESG role within the property industry
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements, standards, imminent and emerging issues in ESG and the built environment
- Established industry networks and connections with key stakeholders including government, JV partners, industry bodies, academia, etc.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of ESG, and possess deep experience in delivery of initiatives
- ESG report writing and publication aligning to international standards and frameworks
- ESG data management platforms and analytical tools.
- Preparing and executing corporate ESG strategies, business cases, feasibility studies, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding of the financial impacts and opportunities for sustainability initiatives on investment decisions and new business
- Proven track record in building capacity in Senior Leaders and supporting organisational change towards
- Experience in successfully working across large, complex organisations in multi-national and cultural environments
- Deep understanding of regulatory and voluntary ESG requirements across multiple geographies
